Tender process for Trianel Gasspeicher Epe completed successfully

It is about Flexibility

Aachen, Epe. “The outstanding quality of our highly flexible storage products is well recognised within the market and leads to an increase in demand”, Carsten Haack, CEO of Trianel Gasspeicher Epe (TGE), points out.

Three stored bundles were entirely allocated, offering a total storage capacity of 75,000 MWh. The tender process with a minimum price of 20,000 € per bundle and was strongly oversubscribed. Haack: “We are glad about the increasingly strong interest of international trading companies. This strongly supports our strategy of offering highly flexible gas storage products.”

The deadline for the tender process was 30 June 2016; three storage bundles were sold each of them consisting of a working gas volume of 25,000 MWh with contract duration from 1 August 2016 to 1 February 2017.

Since 2008, TGE has operated a natural gas storage facility consisting of four salt caverns in Gronau/Epe (Westphalia), with a working gas volume of199 million cubic metres. This is one of the fastest storage facilities in Germany, which was built by Trianel in cooperation with the other shareholders – currently 16 municipal utilities and regional energy supply companies.
