Trianel Gasspeicher Epe

Marketing for gas storage capacities 2023/2024 has started

Epe, Aachen. Trianel Gasspeicher Epe GmbH & Co. KG (TGE) has started to market highly flexible storage capacities for the storage year 2023/2024. The storage product with a total storage volume of 210 GWh on an interruptible basis is up for the tender as of today.

A total of six bundles with 35 GWh working gas volume each are offered in two tender processes. The first tender process with three lots ends on 30 June 2022, 11:00 (CET), the second tender process with the remaining three lots ends on 30 June 2021, 14:00 (CET). The term for all bundles is 12 months, running from 1st of April 2023 until 1st of April 2024. Each bundle has an injection capacity of 200 MW and a withdrawal capacity of 400 MW. The bundles allocated in the first auction will be interrupted subordinate to the bundles allocated in the second auction.

“This very flexible product has proven its worth, especially in these current challenging times in the gas market”, quotes Carsten Haack, Managing Director Trianel Gasspeicher Epe GmbH & Co. KG. “, who also points out that the high number of bidders shows the market interest in this product.” Since 2020 contracted gas volumes can be transferred to other storage customers. Additionally, the product contains a contractual provision whereby an extended reduced availability of working gas volume is compensated by a reduction of the fixed storage fee. Successful bidders get higher certainty for their planning and benefit from higher flexibility when utilizing their bundles.
